Planning your visit to the castle and park? Here you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about access, parking, pets, food services, accessibility, activities and entertainment. This FAQ will help you organise your day and make the most of your experience with family and friends.
Are dogs and pets allowed in the park?
Yes, pets are welcome throughout the park. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times during your visit, including inside the castle. We kindly ask owners to clean up after their pets to help keep the site clean and enjoyable for everyone.
Is food available on site during the visit?
Yes, food and refreshments are available on site. During July and August, visitors can enjoy a snack service and picnic baskets.
During the rest of the year, you are welcome to bring your own picnic and use the designated picnic area within the park.
A refreshment stand is also open every day in the gift shop, offering hot and cold drinks, ice creams, waffles, cookies, brownies and other sweet treats.
How long should I allow for visiting the castle and park?
To fully enjoy the castle, the park and all the activities available, we recommend allowing approximately 3 hours for your visit.
What should I bring to take part in the game trails?
To complete the various game trails and solve the puzzles, please remember to bring a pen.
Is the park accessible with pushchairs and wheelchairs?
Yes, most of the site is accessible to visitors with pushchairs and wheelchairs.
Only the upper floor of the castle and the Musical Forest are not accessible. However, pushchairs can be left at the entrance to the Musical Forest trail and in the castle's upper courtyard, allowing you to continue your visit more comfortably.
Is there parking on site?
Yes, free parking is available directly in front of the park entrance.
The car park is also accessible to motorhomes during opening hours. However, overnight parking and camping on site are not permitted.
Two parking spaces reserved for visitors with reduced mobility are available close to the entrance.
Can I hire or borrow a medieval costume?
Yes, a medieval costume loan service is available during July and August to make your visit even more immersive.
You are also welcome to arrive in your own costume. In the event of bad weather, the park reserves the right to temporarily suspend the costume loan service.
What entertainment and activities are available in the park?
During July and August, visitors can enjoy a trebuchet firing demonstration.
Outside the summer season, no additional medieval shows are offered. However, visitors can still enjoy the game's trails, puzzles and discoveries throughout the castle and park. |
